Mariano Gabriel-Gabriel, a 28-year-old Mexican national residing in LeFlore County, Oklahoma, was sentenced to time served for unlawful reentry after being previously removed from the United States. The sentencing was announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Gabriel-Gabriel, also known as Mariana Gabriel and Gabriel Mariano, pleaded guilty on August 11, 2025. Authorities reported that he was found in the United States on June 30, 2025, without having received permission from the Secretary of Homeland Security to reapply for admission following his removal on May 11, 2017.

The investigation into Gabriel-Gabriel’s case was conducted by U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division and the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the press release: “This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime. Operation Take Back America streamlines efforts and resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).”

The hearing was overseen by Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White in Muskogee. Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin Cornell represented the government during proceedings.
