Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams has announced a voluntary recall of one batch of its Passion Fruit Dreamsicle Ice Cream Bars due to the presence of undeclared wheat and soy. The company stated that individuals with allergies or severe sensitivities to these ingredients may face serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume the product.
According to Jeni’s, no illnesses or injuries have been reported related to this issue so far. The affected product was distributed in grocery stores across the United States. Customers can identify the recalled items by checking for batch code 25-210 on the top of the carton. This is reportedly the only lot impacted by the recall.
The company explained that "the recall was initiated after a crunch topping from a separate product was inadvertently introduced to this particular batch of Passion Fruit Dreamsicle Ice Cream Bars during manufacturing. The crunch topping contains wheat and soy, which is not declared on the packaging."
Customers who purchased these ice cream bars are encouraged to return them to their place of purchase for a refund. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is also available for contact at 614-488-3224 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, or by email at contact@jenis.com.
