A Vernon man has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison for enticing minors to send him sexually explicit images and videos through Snapchat. Daryl Todd, 45, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport on November 5, 2025. In addition to his prison term, Todd will serve five years of supervised release.
Court documents and statements revealed that an investigation by the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force found Todd used Snapchat to communicate with minor girls and persuaded them to send sexually explicit content. In some cases, he paid the victims using Cash App in exchange for these images and videos. Investigators also determined that Todd sent sexually explicit images of himself to the minors.
Following his arrest on March 7, 2024, authorities analyzed Todd’s cellphone and tablet, uncovering further evidence of sexually explicit images involving minor females.
On April 8, 2025, Todd pleaded guilty to receipt of child pornography.
Todd is currently out on a $100,000 bond and must report to prison on January 7.
The FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force led the investigation with assistance from federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nancy V. Gifford prosecuted the case as part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood Initiative. This initiative focuses on protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation through collaboration among various agencies and public outreach efforts (https://www.justice.gov/psc).
