Elkhart woman receives over seven years in prison for armed bank robbery

Undrea House, a 29-year-old resident of Elkhart, Indiana, was sentenced to 85 months in federal prison for her involvement in a bank robbery and for brandishing a firearm during the crime. The sentencing took place before United States District Court Judge Cristal C. Brisco.

According to court documents, House entered a bank in August 2024 armed with a loaded handgun. She pointed the weapon at an employee and demanded money, taking more than $1,000 before leaving the scene. Law enforcement located and arrested her at her apartment later that same day.

Acting United States Attorney M. Scott Proctor announced the sentencing and stated that House will also serve three years of supervised release following her prison term.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation led the investigation into the case, with support from the Goshen Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Joel Gabrielse prosecuted the case.
