U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced the arrest of several individuals described as criminal illegal aliens with convictions for serious offenses such as murder, child sex crimes, rape, and drug trafficking. The arrests took place across various locations in the United States.
According to Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, “Every day, the brave men and women of ICE put their lives on the line to remove the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from American streets. Just yesterday, ICE arrested murderers, pedophiles, rapists, and drug traffickers.” She added, “Secretary Noem is delivering on the President’s mandate from the American people to remove criminal illegal aliens—many let in by the previous administration—from our country.”
Among those arrested were Jomo Christophe Avila from Belize, convicted of lewd or lascivious battery involving a minor in Miami, Florida; Miguel Angel Ramirez-Benitez from Mexico, convicted of murder in Goshen, New York; Wilver Otoniel Laparra-Gonzalez from Guatemala, convicted of attempted rape and attempted criminal sexual act in Auburn, New York; Higinio Rodriguez-Ramirez from Mexico, convicted of burglary in Johnson County, Texas; and Mario Gonzalez-Delgado from Mexico, convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 100 kilograms of marijuana in Eagle Pass, Texas.
These actions are part of ongoing efforts by ICE under current administration directives to prioritize removal operations targeting individuals with serious criminal backgrounds.
