The U.S. Department of Commerce has granted approval for the export of advanced American semiconductors to two companies in the Middle East. G42, based in the United Arab Emirates, and Humain, based in Saudi Arabia, are authorized to purchase up to 35,000 Nvidia Blackwell chips (GB300s) each.
According to the department, these approvals are intended to help maintain American leadership in artificial intelligence and global technology. The decision aligns with President Trump’s July 2025 AI Action Plan and follows recent U.S.-Saudi and U.S.-UAE partnership agreements on artificial intelligence.
Both G42 and Humain must comply with strict security and reporting requirements as a condition of their approval. The Bureau of Industry and Security at the Department of Commerce is working with both companies on these obligations and will oversee ongoing compliance.
“The approvals are conditioned on both companies meeting rigorous security and reporting requirements. The Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security is engaging with the companies regarding these requirements and will monitor compliance on an ongoing basis.”
The Commerce Department stated that it will continue supporting exports of American AI technology to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and other allied nations around the world.
