The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) has announced new release dates for several reports that were delayed due to a lapse in federal funding. During the funding lapse, NASS paused both data collection and the release of most reports.
According to NASS, a number of reports have now been rescheduled, while others will be announced once their release dates are determined. Reports not affected by the lapse will continue to be released as originally scheduled on the NASS release calendar.
Some of the key changes include:
- The Agricultural Prices report for October 31 and November 28 will be released together on December 15 at 3 p.m. ET.
- Broiler Hatchery data from October and early November will be released on November 19 at 3 p.m. ET.
- Chicken & Eggs data for October and November will be included in a report released December 19 at 3 p.m. ET.
- Cold Storage data from October and November is set for release on December 23 at 3 p.m. ET.
- The Cost of Pollination report, originally scheduled for December 12, will now be released February 13 at 3 p.m. ET.
- Certain Cotton Ginnings and Crop Production reports from October and early November will not be released.
Other notable rescheduled releases include Dairy Products, Egg Products, Fats & Oils, Flour Milling, Grain Crushings, Livestock Slaughter, Peanut Prices, Poultry Slaughter, Rice Stocks, Small Grain County Estimates, Turkey Hatchery data, Weekly Slaughter numbers, and Peanut Stocks and Processing.
For some upcoming reports such as the Census of Horticulture Specialties and Floriculture Crops scheduled for December 16—and Tenure, Ownership & Transition of Agricultural Land (TOTAL) initially set for October 31—new release dates have not yet been determined.
All updated reports will be available through the USDA’s official publications page at www.nass.usda.gov/Publications.
