The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced a new organizational realignment aimed at improving its ability to implement President Trump’s energy agenda. The changes are intended to support the Administration’s focus on increasing domestic energy production, advancing scientific and technological leadership, and maintaining the safety and readiness of the country’s nuclear weapons stockpile.
U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright stated, “Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, the Energy Department is aligning its operations to restore commonsense to energy policy, lower costs for American families and businesses, and ensure the responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. These changes will help us better execute the DOE mission of delivering affordable, reliable and secure American energy for the American people."
The DOE says this realignment is designed to make its operations more efficient as it works toward these goals.
