On September 30, 2025, a federal grand jury in Phoenix returned a 23-count superseding indictment against five individuals from Dilkon, Arizona. The defendants—Ryan Adelbert Johnson, Alexandra Johnson, Charles Lyle Truax, Mike Duffy III, and Sherry Duffy—face charges related to a shooting incident that occurred in March 2022 in Teesto on the Navajo Nation. The incident resulted in the deaths of three victims and injuries to others.

According to the indictment, Ryan Adelbert Johnson, Alexandra Johnson, Charles Lyle Truax, and Mike Duffy III have been charged with First Degree Murder, Kidnapping Resulting in Death, Felony Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Robbery, as well as Discharge of a Firearm During a Crime of Violence. Additionally, Mike Duffy III, Alexandra Johnson, Charles Lyle Truax, and Sherry Duffy face charges related to Tampering with an Official Proceeding and/or making False Statements to a Government Agency.

The release states: "Convictions for First Degree Murder and Kidnapping Resulting in Death carry mandatory life sentences."

Authorities emphasize that "an indictment is simply a method by which a person is charged with criminal activity and raises no inference of guilt. An individual is presumed innocent until evidence is presented to a jury that establishes guilt beyond a reasonable doubt."

The FBI’s Phoenix office in Flagstaff conducted the investigation. The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona in Phoenix is prosecuting the case.
