The Department of State has announced that The American Arts Conservancy (AAC) will represent the United States at the 61st Venice Art Biennale in 2026. The exhibition, titled ‘Alma Allen: Call Me the Breeze,’ is organized by Commissioner Jenni Parido, founder of AAC, along with curator Jeffrey Uslip.
The exhibition will feature artworks by Alma Allen that focus on the transformation of materials and explore the theme of “elevation.” This concept is presented both as a physical form and as a symbol reflecting collective optimism and self-realization. According to the announcement, these ideas are intended to further the Trump Administration’s emphasis on showcasing American excellence. Allen plans to create several new sculptures for the event, including one specifically designed for the outdoor forecourt of the U.S. Pavilion.
“The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs supports and manages the official U.S. participation at Venice Arts and Architecture Biennales to showcase the excellence of American art and culture on the world stage,” according to a statement from the Department.
The Bureau’s involvement in managing U.S. participation at major international exhibitions aims to promote American cultural achievements globally.
