A Portland woman appeared in federal court after being charged with assaulting a federal officer during an incident involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in Tigard, Oregon.
Summer Shepherd, 37, faces charges following an event on November 23, 2025. According to court documents, ICE officers were executing an arrest when Shepherd arrived at the scene. She allegedly pushed an officer in the chest, causing him to stumble backward. The officer then returned to his vehicle and closed the door. Shepherd reportedly struck the vehicle with her hands, denting it, and forcibly opened the door. When the officer attempted to prevent her from entering by extending his hand, she slammed the door on his left arm. Additional officers assisted in apprehending Shepherd.
Shepherd had her initial appearance before a U.S. Magistrate Judge and was released pending further court proceedings.
Homeland Security Investigations is leading the investigation into this case. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon is handling prosecution.
