Scott E. Bradford has been sworn in to continue as the chief federal law enforcement officer for the District of Oregon. The oath was administered by Senior U.S. District Judge Michael W. Mosman, who previously served as U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon and was also a mentor to Bradford during his clerkship.
“Being chosen to lead the District of Oregon is a privilege I do not take lightly. I am deeply humbled by the district court’s vote of confidence in me, and I am committed to serving our community alongside remarkable colleagues and agency partners, who dedicate themselves to the mission every day,” said Scott E. Bradford, U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon. “My focus remains on the Department’s priorities: keeping our country safe, upholding the rule of law, and protecting civil rights.”
Attorney General Pamela Bondi appointed Bradford as U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon on July 28, 2025.
Bradford brings over 18 years of experience as a federal prosecutor with involvement in cases ranging from violent crime and narcotics trafficking to child exploitation, fraud, cybercrime, and national security matters.
Since joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon in 2009 as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, he has held several leadership positions including Chief of the White Collar Unit; Chief of Economic, National Security, and Cyber Crimes Unit; and Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division.
In 2022, Bradford worked internationally as the Department of Justice’s Regional Cybercrime Attaché in Southeast Asia where he provided training to justice sector partners focused on combating cybercrime in that region. Prior to his current role, he served as Acting Chief of Counterintelligence and Export Control Section within the National Security Division based in Washington, D.C.
