CFTC seeks nominations for CEO Innovation Council with December 8 deadline

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is seeking nominations for its CEO Innovation Council, according to an announcement from Acting Chairman Caroline D. Pham. The deadline for submitting nominations is December 8.

Under the leadership of Acting Chairman Pham, the CFTC has focused on innovation and changes in market structure. Initiatives include the Crypto CEO Forum, work on prediction markets, perpetual contracts, and enabling 24/7 trading. The agency’s ongoing "Crypto Sprint" aims to implement recommendations from the President’s Working Group on Digital Asset Markets report through August 2026. This initiative covers areas such as listed spot crypto trading, tokenized collateral and stablecoins, and new rules to support blockchain technology and related market infrastructure.

“The U.S. is leading a new era in market structure, and the CFTC is at the forefront of this renaissance accelerated by innovation and technology,” said Acting Chairman Pham. “The CFTC stands ready to carry out our mission over expanded markets and products, including crypto and digital assets, and ensure our markets remain vibrant and resilient while protecting all participants. In order to hit the ground running, it is critical that the CFTC drives public engagement with the support of expert industry leaders and visionaries who are building the future. That is why today I am calling upon CEOs to join us in shaping responsible regulations that will lay the foundation for America’s Golden Age of Innovation.”

Members of the public are invited to nominate individuals for consideration on the CEO Innovation Council or propose topics they believe should be prioritized by the group. Nominations should include information about the nominee—such as name, title, organizational affiliation—and details supporting their qualifications for council membership. Suggestions for topics to prioritize should also be included along with contact information for both nominee and nominator.

Submissions can be sent via email using “CEO Innovation Council Nomination” as the subject line.
