A federal grand jury has indicted Tyler Bruce McClure, 24, of Jacksonville, on charges related to the distribution and possession of child sexual abuse materials over the internet. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe.
McClure faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in federal prison and could receive up to 40 years if convicted. He also faces a potential life term of supervised release. McClure was arrested by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office on November 17, 2025, and appeared in federal court the following day. He remains detained pending trial.
According to the indictment, McClure is accused of distributing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct via the internet on or about September 26, 2025. On October 7, 2025, he allegedly possessed similar material on his cellular phone.
"An indictment is only an allegation, and every defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty."
The case is being investigated by the Northeast Florida INTERCEPT Task Force, which includes Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Jacksonville as well as sheriff’s offices from Jacksonville, St. Johns County, Clay County, and Columbia County. Assistant United States Attorney D. Rodney Brown is prosecuting the case.
This prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood—a Department of Justice initiative started in 2006 that coordinates efforts among federal, state, and local agencies to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.usdoj.gov/psc.
