On December 1, 2025, the President signed two congressional bills into law. The first, H.R. 695, known as the “Medal of Honor Act,” mandates that the Department of Veterans Affairs increase the special monthly pension rate for living Medal of Honor recipients.
The second bill, H.R. 2483, titled the “SUPPORT for Patients and Communications Reauthorization Act of 2025,” reauthorizes existing programs focused on preventing, treating, and supporting recovery from substance use disorders.
