Quinlan woman receives two-year federal sentence for methamphetamine trafficking

A woman from Quinlan, Texas has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for her involvement in methamphetamine trafficking. Rosalind Horton, 34, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine. U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant handed down the sentence on December 1, 2025.

According to court records, Horton began conspiring with others in 2020 to distribute and possess at least 500 grams of methamphetamine within the Eastern District of Texas.

U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs announced the sentencing and noted that the case is part of Operation Take Back America, a national initiative led by the Department of Justice aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protecting communities from violent crime.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant U.S. Attorney Heather Rattan prosecuted the case.
