A St. Louis man has been sentenced to 12 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to multiple robberies, including a bank and two mobile phone stores.
Kentrell Jones, 42, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey. According to court documents, Jones robbed a bank in Jennings, Missouri on January 20, 2022. He handed a note to a teller and implied that he was armed.
On February 14, 2022, Jones attempted to rob a mobile phone store on South Grand Boulevard in St. Louis by threatening an employee with a gun. The robbery was unsuccessful when the employee escaped into a bathroom and locked the door.
Jones then proceeded to another mobile phone store on Kingshighway Boulevard in St. Louis where he robbed the store of cell phones and cash while armed.
Jones pleaded guilty in August at the U.S. District Court in St. Louis to charges of robbery, attempted robbery, bank robbery, and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.
The case was investigated by the FBI along with the St. Louis County Police Department and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ryan Finlen and Nino Przulj prosecuted the case.
