U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported on December 5, 2025, that it has arrested several individuals described as serious criminal illegal aliens. The agency stated that these arrests included people convicted of crimes such as murder, arson, and sex offenses against children.

Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said, "Every day our officers put their lives on the line to arrest the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from American communities. Yesterday, ICE arrested murderers, arsonists, and child sexual predators." She also addressed public discussion about ICE's enforcement priorities: "Despite FALSE claims by sanctuary politicians and the media, 70% of ICE arrests are of illegal aliens who have been charged or convicted of a crime in the U.S."

Among those arrested were Carlos Garza-Cardoza from Honduras, convicted for sexual assault of a child in Harris County, Texas; Javier Esquivel-Barrientos from Mexico, convicted for voluntary manslaughter in Los Angeles County and conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine in Arkansas; Kendri Asdrubal Duque-Espinoza from Venezuela, convicted for arson in Clearfield, Utah; Fabian Gonzalez-Ramos from Mexico, convicted for voluntary manslaughter in Riverside, California; and Erick Valdez-Juarez from Mexico, convicted for sexual battery in San Luis Obispo, California.

ICE highlighted that most of its arrests involve individuals charged with or convicted of crimes within the United States.
