The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has announced that National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) will take place from March 1 to March 7, 2026. The FTC is encouraging libraries to participate by providing their patrons with information about consumer rights, how to identify and avoid scams, and the process of reporting fraud.

To support these efforts, the FTC is partnering with the Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services (ABOS) for a free webinar focused on helping libraries incorporate NCPW programming and outreach. The webinar is scheduled for March 1 at 2 p.m. Eastern Time.

Libraries interested in joining the webinar can access it through this link: https://ftc.zoomgov.com/j/1612580692?pwd=OhhX8ylyoxrOCgS81AgQL1ac8A6rer.1 using Meeting ID: 161 258 0692 and Passcode: 304565. Phone options are also available for participants in various locations, including New York, San Jose, a Spanish language line, and a toll-free number.

The FTC encourages libraries to use NCPW as an opportunity to educate their communities about important consumer protection topics.
