Federal authorities have unsealed an indictment charging five individuals in connection with an international firearms trafficking conspiracy. Tyler Corbin, 25, of Tampa; Edward Noel, 26, of Canada; Alfredo Santana, 32, of Miami; Omar Singateth, 24, of Canada; and Arif Jhuman, 39, of Canada are accused of conspiring to traffic firearms, trafficking in firearms, and dealing firearms without a license. In addition to these charges, Corbin faces one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.
The indictment was made public after the recent arrests of Corbin and Santana. According to court documents and hearings, the group allegedly trafficked more than 100 firearms from Florida into Canada during 2023 and 2024. Of these weapons, authorities recovered 29 at Canadian crime scenes that included homicides. Investigators noted that one firearm purchased by Corbin was found at a homicide scene just over a month after its purchase. None of the defendants held licenses to deal in firearms.
The investigation involved collaboration between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Homeland Security Investigations’ Miami Field Office. Assistant United States Attorney Samantha Newman will prosecute the case.
This prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America—a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations while protecting communities from violent crime. The operation coordinates resources from Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN).
