A New Haven resident, Gregory Grant, 34, has been sentenced to three years in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release for his role in trafficking methamphetamine pills. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Stefan R. Underhill in Bridgeport.

According to court documents and statements made during the proceedings, from January 2022 to March 2024, Grant's co-conspirator Tyrone Brown sent packages containing methamphetamine pills from Georgia to addresses in New Haven linked to Grant and others. Investigators identified about 79 suspicious parcels shipped from Brown to Grant over this period.

In January 2023, law enforcement executed a court-authorized search of one intercepted parcel and discovered more than four kilograms of methamphetamine pills inside 16 ziplock sandwich bags, along with a firearm. The investigation further revealed that Grant had made several payments to Brown during their operation.

Grant has been held in custody since his arrest on March 27, 2024. He pleaded guilty on March 12, 2025. Brown also pleaded guilty and received a ten-year prison sentence on December 2, 2025.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Narcotics and Bulk Cash Trafficking Task Force, which includes members from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the U.S. Postal Service – Office of the Inspector General, as well as police departments from Hartford, Plainville, and Meriden. Assistant U.S. Attorney Nathaniel J. Gentile prosecuted the case.
