Donte Samuel Brown, a 45-year-old resident of Philadelphia, has been charged with multiple counts related to a series of robberies in the area. According to an announcement from United States Attorney David Metcalf, Brown faces two counts of robbery interfering with interstate commerce under the Hobbs Act, one count of using and carrying a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and one count of bank robbery.
The indictment states that Brown allegedly robbed a Family Dollar store in Delaware County on August 15, 2024. He is also accused of robbing at gunpoint a Sunoco gas station in Montgomery County on January 28, 2025. Additionally, he is charged with robbing a TD Bank branch in Delaware County on February 19, 2025. The total amount stolen from these incidents was reported to be over $8,000. Brown was first indicted for the bank and gas station robberies in July.
If found guilty on all charges, Brown could face up to life imprisonment.
The investigation into these incidents was conducted by FBI Philadelphia’s Newtown Square Resident Agency along with the East Norriton Township Police Department, Ridley Township Police Department, and Upper Darby Township Police Department. Special Assistant United States Attorneys Sandra Urban and Brian Doherty are prosecuting the case.
“The charges and allegations contained in the indictment are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty in court,” stated the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
