The affected product is sold in clear plastic jars labeled with lot B No.HCNCU1205/24 on the top and an expiration date of June 2026 on the side. The UPC code for this item is 8941153046243.
The company stated that no illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported related to this product so far. The recall was initiated after routine checks by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors found that some packages contained peanuts not listed on the label.
"People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products," South Asian Food Inc. said in its announcement.
