A Lorain resident, Tiawan Taylor, age 44, has been sentenced to ten years in federal prison for drug-related offenses. Taylor pleaded guilty to charges that on July 31, 2024, he possessed with intent to distribute at least 50 grams of a methamphetamine mixture and also intended to distribute cocaine. Following his prison term, Taylor will be subject to twenty years of federal supervised release.
Taylor's criminal record includes multiple previous convictions for violent crimes, thefts, and drug trafficking.
United States Attorney David Toepfer for the Northern District of Ohio commented on the sentencing: “This kind of behavior is a direct threat to the safety of our communities. Drug dealers bring violence and poison wherever they operate, and we are pleased to see this defendant taken off the streets for the next decade. I commend the efforts of the FBI and Lorain Police Department for their hard work and continued partnership.”
The investigation was conducted by the Lorain Police Department along with the FBI Cleveland Division. Assistant United States Attorney Scott Zarzycki prosecuted the case.
