U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) shared updates on enforcement actions and commemorations in a series of posts on December 13, 2025. The agency reported recent arrests related to immigration enforcement and recognized the anniversary of the U.S. National Guard.

On December 13, CBP stated, "Border Patrol agents alongside multiple federal agencies have been busy this week in Las Vegas! A total of 19 illegal aliens, including an 18th Street gang member, with criminal histories have been apprehended and are subject to removal. The subjects were nationals of Mexico, El" (posted at 16:25 UTC).

Later that day, CBP acknowledged the long-standing service of the U.S. National Guard by posting, "On this day we proudly celebrate 389 years of the @USNationalGuard, and the brave men and women who serve. As vital partners in national security, we appreciate the dedication and commitment to protecting the homeland. Happy Birthday! 'Always Ready, Always There.'" (posted at 17:00 UTC).

In another update regarding border enforcement efforts, CBP wrote at 19:40 UTC: "A joint operation by Border patrol along with the U.S. Attorney's Office in Arizona has sentenced the 18th and final defendant for an alien smuggling organization. The smugglers worked on behalf of a Mexican transnational crime organization, smuggling hundreds of illegal aliens".

The CBP is responsible for border security as part of its mission under the Department of Homeland Security. It frequently collaborates with other federal agencies such as U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and local law enforcement to address issues related to unlawful entry into the United States.

The U.S. National Guard was established in December 1636 and serves both state and federal governments during times of emergency or conflict.
