Secretary Rubio discusses response to deadly attack on U.S. personnel in Syria

Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani following a terrorist attack in Syria that resulted in the deaths of two American soldiers and a civilian interpreter. According to Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott, "Foreign Minister Al-Shaibani offered condolences and reiterated the commitment of the Syrian government to degrade and destroy the shared threat of ISIS." The United States emphasized its intention to hold accountable those responsible for harming or threatening Americans.
