The United States has extended greetings to Bhutan on the occasion of its National Day, which is observed on December 17. In a statement, the U.S. Secretary of State conveyed best wishes to the people of Bhutan and acknowledged the country’s cultural heritage.
"On behalf of the United States of America, I extend warm wishes to the people of Bhutan as you commemorate your National Day on December 17. We recognize your country’s rich history and culture on this important occasion," said the Secretary.
The message also emphasized ongoing relations between the two countries. "The United States values its friendship with Bhutan and looks forward to strengthening the ties between our countries."
"I congratulate the Kingdom of Bhutan as it commemorates this special occasion and wish the people of Bhutan success and peace in the year ahead," added the Secretary.
Bhutan and the United States maintain diplomatic engagement, though they do not have formal embassies in each other's capitals. The U.S. continues to express interest in deepening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
