In a post at 20:15 UTC, CBP stated: "Nothing will get in our way of protecting American workers, business, and consumers."
Later that evening, the agency detailed the results of a multi-agency operation in Montana. According to their post at 21:50 UTC: "Border Patrol agents in Montana did their part in Making America safe again during a five-day multi-agency operation. They successfully made 51 arrests, identified a violent sex offender, apprehended fugitives, recovered two missing juveniles, seized 14lbs of meth, coke,"
The final update came at 22:30 UTC from Washington D.C., where CBP officers reported the arrest of a wanted fugitive. The post read: "CBP Officers in Washington D.C. were patrolling the streets and made the arrest of a subject who was a wanted fugitive of justice with a warrant out of the D.C. superior court. Creating safer neighborhoods for citizens, not criminals."
CBP is responsible for safeguarding U.S. borders and enforcing laws related to customs and immigration. Their operations often involve coordination with other federal and local agencies to address criminal activity such as drug trafficking and human smuggling.
