U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has announced the recent arrest of several individuals described as "worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens" who have been convicted of serious crimes such as burglary, bank robbery, and aggravated kidnapping.

According to Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin, “Violent criminal illegal aliens who break our laws have absolutely no business remaining in the United States. Yesterday’s arrests include criminal illegal aliens convicted for burglary, bank robbery, and kidnapping. We are thankful for our law enforcement who delivered the best Christmas gift for American families this holiday season: safer communities.”

Among those arrested is Jessupe Sandino Berraza-Rivera from Chile, identified as a member of the South American Theft Group and convicted of burglary in Santa Ana, California. Another individual, Luis Enrique Castaneda-Reyes from Colombia, was found to have ten criminal convictions including bank robbery by force and violent crimes involving drugs and a machine gun in New Jersey federal court.

Elidelfo Castro-Nava from Mexico was arrested following convictions for aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury in Salt Lake County, Utah. Juan Emerson Gomez-Sorto from El Salvador was convicted of aggravated assault in Price, Utah. Additionally, Jesser Sandoval-Cruz from Honduras was convicted for assaulting a family household member after a previous conviction in Harris County, Texas.

ICE states that these actions are part of ongoing efforts to improve public safety during the holiday season.
