The United States Senate has confirmed Jeffrey Hall as the Assistant Administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance. Hall, appointed by President Donald J. Trump, will focus on advancing the EPA's mission to protect human health and the environment. He will also support EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin’s "Powering the Great American Comeback Initiative."

"Jeff Hall has been absolutely pivotal in advancing the critical work of the Trump EPA this year, and I’m confident he will be exceptional in his new role," said Zeldin. "I have no doubt that Jeff is going to continue to deliver on this agency’s mission of protecting human health and the environment through the implementation of the agency’s statutory obligations, and ensure Americans have access to clean air, land, and water."

Hall expressed gratitude for his appointment: "I am honored by the trust placed in me by President Trump and Administrator Zeldin." He emphasized his commitment to working with career staff to ensure clarity, transparency, consistency, efficiency, and accountability.

Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, praised Hall's qualifications: "Throughout his career as a litigator, prosecutor, and legal advisor, Mr. Hall has demonstrated his ability to carry out the EPA’s statutory authority."

The Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance oversees significant environmental hazards across air, land, water, and chemicals. It implements key statutes like the Clean Water Act [https://www.epa.gov/laws-regulations/summary-clean-water-act], Clean Air Act [https://www.epa.gov/laws-regulations/summary-clean-air-act], Comprehensive Environmental Response [https://www.epa.gov/superfund/superfund-cercla-overview], Compensation and Liability Act [https://www.epa.gov/superfund/superfund-cercla-overview], Resource Conservation [https://www.epa.gov/rcra/resource-conservation-and-recovery-act-rcra-overview] among others.

Hall previously served as OECA’s Principal Deputy Assistant Administrator before becoming Acting Assistant Administrator in February. His background includes roles at a small law firm handling federal court cases and positions at the Department of Justice over seven years.
