This morning, Secretary of State Marco Rubio appeared on several news programs to discuss the Trump Administration’s recent operation that led to the capture of Nicolás Maduro, who has been indicted as a narcoterrorist and is described as the former Venezuelan dictator. Secretary Rubio emphasized President Donald J. Trump’s strong commitment to ensuring that the Western Hemisphere does not become a refuge for drug traffickers, Iranian proxies, or hostile regimes that could threaten U.S. national security.
Rubio stated, "President Trump will not allow our security to be threatened." He also declared that "the days of weakness are over and the U.S. will deploy every tool to eradicate these threats from our backyard."
The operation marks a significant move by the administration in its efforts to address security concerns in the region.
