Jamestown man indicted for threats against Homeland Security agent and family

A federal grand jury has indicted Matthew White, 43, of Jamestown, New York, on charges related to threats made against a Department of Homeland Security agent and the agent's family. U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that White faces charges of threatening to assault and murder a federal law enforcement officer and making interstate threats to injure a person. If convicted, White could face up to 10 years in prison.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Evan K. Glaberson, the indictment alleges that on April 30, 2025, White threatened a federal law enforcement officer with the intent to interfere with the officer’s official duties. The indictment further states that White posted on the social media platform X: “I can’t wait to put a bullet into this guy’s brain, but first his children.”

White was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and released under certain conditions.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations, led by Special Agent-in-Charge Erin Keegan.

“The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty,” according to the statement from authorities.
