U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Anzalduas International Bridge have apprehended Antonio Ford, a 23-year-old U.S. citizen from McIntyre, Georgia, who was wanted on a felony warrant for sexual exploitation of a minor.
According to CBP officials, Ford arrived at the bridge from Mexico on January 4. Officers identified him as a possible match to an outstanding arrest warrant. After moving him to secondary inspection, officers used biometric verification to confirm his identity and the active warrant issued by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office in Smithfield, North Carolina. The warrant has been outstanding since July 2025 and includes 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, classified as third-degree felonies in North Carolina.
Port Director Carlos Rodriguez stated: “CBP screens all travelers entering the United States and we are committed to bringing in wanted individuals to face their criminal charges.”
Following his apprehension, a Mission police officer took custody of Ford and transported him to Hidalgo County Jail. He will remain there while awaiting extradition to Johnston County, North Carolina.
