Charles Robinson, 44, of Chicago, Illinois, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. Robinson pleaded guilty on September 2, 2025, to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance.
According to court records, Robinson was involved in distributing methamphetamine in Mason City, Iowa from at least May 2023 through September 2024. Law enforcement documented his active participation in drug trafficking during this period. Authorities also noted that Robinson has a lengthy criminal record with several convictions related to assault and domestic abuse.
United States District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand handed down the sentence of 120 months’ imprisonment in Sioux City. After completing his prison term, Robinson will be required to serve five years of supervised release. Federal law does not allow parole.
Robinson is currently being held by the United States Marshal’s Service until he is transferred to a federal correctional facility.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department led the investigation into the case. Assistant United States Attorney Ron Timmons prosecuted the matter.
