HUD provides $251.2 million loan for hospital expansion in South Carolina

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has announced a $251.2 million Federal Housing Administration (FHA)-insured supplemental mortgage to support the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). The funding will enable MUSC to expand access to acute care hospital services for residents in Northern Lancaster County, South Carolina.

The FHA-insured mortgage aims to provide additional capital for healthcare infrastructure, ensuring that local communities have improved access to quality medical care.

This initiative is part of HUD’s ongoing efforts to strengthen healthcare facilities through financial support and loan insurance programs.
