Micron has begun construction on its new manufacturing facility in New York, marking a significant investment of $100 billion. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Micron executives and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, along with other notable guests.
During the event, Secretary Lutnick stated, “Today’s groundbreaking is more proof that American greatness is back. Under President Trump, we’re done outsourcing our future and, instead, we’re building it right here at home. Micron’s investment in New York means tens of thousands of great American jobs and strong supply chains finally back in the USA. We are committed to bringing back American leadership in semiconductor manufacturing.”
The project is expected to create tens of thousands of jobs and strengthen domestic supply chains for semiconductors.
