Niagara Falls man sentenced to seven years for meth distribution

A Niagara Falls man has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison after being convicted of distributing methamphetamine, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo. Asaad Rivers, 38, received an 84-month sentence from U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey E. Intravatola said that investigators carried out controlled purchases of methamphetamine from Rivers on March 7 and March 12, 2024, in Niagara Falls. On March 26, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Rivers' residence where they found a .22 caliber rifle, .22 caliber ammunition, about 12 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, and eight grams of suspected crack cocaine.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and the Niagara County Drug Task Force.
