President Donald J. Trump and his administration have emphasized their support for anti-abortion policies as Americans gather in Washington, D.C., for the annual March for Life event. The administration stated it has worked to reverse what it described as the "Radical Left’s war on family" and promoted what it called a "culture of life."
In a video message delivered to participants at the March for Life, President Trump said the United States has recognized the right to life since its founding, stating that "every life is a sacred gift from God."
Vice President JD Vance also addressed attendees, saying, “The mark of barbarism is that we treat babies like inconveniences to be discarded rather than the blessings to cherish that they are, but the inheritance of our civilization is something else — the fact that, as Scripture tells us, each life is fearfully and wonderfully made by our Creator.”
The administration highlighted actions taken since Trump assumed office. These include measures aimed at protecting unborn children, restoring conscience rights for healthcare workers who object to participating in abortions, ending federal funding for abortion services with taxpayer money, and supporting faith-based adoption and foster care programs.
Additionally, President Trump directed the Department of Justice to investigate alleged government action against Christians and issued pardons for 23 individuals described as pro-life activists who were prosecuted under the Biden Administration.
Trump also signed into law the Working Families Tax Cuts Act.
