Dow City man pleads guilty to child exploitation charges

Timothy T. Duax U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Iowa

Bryce White, a 42-year-old resident of Dow City, Iowa, pleaded guilty on January 21, 2026, in federal court in Sioux City to charges of sexual exploitation of a child and receipt of child pornography.

During the plea hearing, White admitted that from August 1, 2023, to August 2024, he coerced minor females into sending him sexually explicit images and videos. He used Snapchat to pose as a minor and solicited nude images and videos from minors across the United States and internationally. In September 2023, law enforcement in Midland, Michigan began investigating after parents discovered inappropriate messages between their daughter and White on Snapchat. Authorities traced the account back to White in Dow City. Agents in Iowa executed search warrants on his electronic devices and found 14 videos and 180 images depicting child sexual abuse material, along with over 20,000 images categorized as child erotica. The materials included depictions involving sadistic or masochistic conduct as well as prepubescent children and toddlers.
