Pennsylvania man pleads guilty to possessing child pornography at Newark airport

A Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to possessing images of child sexual abuse, according to an announcement from Senior Counsel Philip Lamparello. Edwin Isaacson IV, 53, from Matamoras, Pennsylvania, entered his plea before Chief Judge Renée Marie Bumb in Camden federal court.

Court documents and statements revealed that on April 23, 2025, Isaacson was found at Newark Liberty International Airport after arriving on an international flight. Authorities discovered he possessed at least 28 videos depicting prepubescent minors engaged in sexual conduct.

The offense carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine up to $250,000. Sentencing is scheduled for June 9, 2026.

Senior Counsel Lamparello acknowledged the work of special agents from Homeland Security Investigations Newark and Special Agent in Charge Michael S. McCarthy for their role in the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew Specht of the Special Prosecutions Division is representing the government.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative that coordinates federal, state, and local resources to address child exploitation crimes committed over the Internet and support victim identification and rescue efforts.
