Alexandria man sentenced to 22 years for repeat child sexual abuse material offenses

An Alexandria man, Antonio Rudy Gonzalez, 41, was sentenced to 22 years in prison for distributing and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) while on supervised release for a previous similar offense. According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Gonzalez used the Kik messaging platform in April 2024 to distribute CSAM. He requested and sent images of children, including toddlers, engaged in sexually explicit conduct to several other users on the platform. In his messages, Gonzalez stated that he was “only into kids.”

Gonzalez had a prior conviction from 2013 in the Eastern District of Virginia for distribution of child pornography. Investigators noted that his Kik username in 2024 was nearly identical to the one he used during his earlier offense. At that time, he advertised himself as being interested in “little girls, rape, incest, teens.”

In September 2025, Gonzalez was convicted at trial on two counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography related to his actions in 2024.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Vanessa Strobbe for the Eastern District of Virginia and Trial Attorney Nadia Prinz from the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section prosecuted the case. The FBI Washington Field Office led the investigation.

The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse online. The project coordinates federal, state, and local resources to find and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the internet and works to identify victims.
