Ben Weiss, CEO of CoinFlip, said the company is deepening collaboration with law enforcement at all levels to protect consumers as cryptocurrency adoption grows. Weiss made the remarks in announcing CoinFlip’s first-ever Law Enforcement Relations Director, Jed Roffers.
"As a company that holds itself to the highest standard of compliance, we take pride in the relationships we've built with law enforcement since our inception in 2015," said Weiss, Chief Operating Officer. "Now, as our business and our industry continues to grow globally, we want to ensure we're working across all levels of law enforcement efficiently and effectively to protect consumers while giving them the freedom to purchase crypto in the way that best suits them."
CoinFlip appointed Jed Roffers as its inaugural Law Enforcement Relations Director on February 3, 2026. According to Weiss, Roffers is tasked with strengthening ties with local, state, federal, and international agencies. The CEO emphasized the company’s commitment to maintaining a "highest standard of compliance" and protecting consumers while allowing them choice in purchasing cryptocurrency.
The company has launched a consumer-protection initiative called "Safe in Six," which incorporates six scam-screening questions at every kiosk. This program partners with law enforcement to educate communities and prevent fraud before cash-to-crypto transactions occur. CoinFlip presents this initiative as a frontline deterrent integrated into its physical network, featuring clear on-screen prompts and multilingual guidance. It also offers a path for escalating suspected scams to trained support in real time.
The Cryptocurrency Anti-Fraud Education (CAFE) Association recently announced that CoinFlip joined as one of its founding industry members. The partnership is centered around "trust, transparency, and strengthened consumer protection" in cryptocurrency. CAFE focuses on consumer education campaigns and research on fraud protection trends and best-practice frameworks aimed at preventing crypto fraud and enhancing consumer confidence.
