Secretary Rubio set for talks on security and energy during European trip

Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to visit Germany, Slovakia, and Hungary from February 13-16. The trip will begin in Germany, where Secretary Rubio will participate in the 62nd Munich Security Conference.

Following his time in Germany, Secretary Rubio will travel to Bratislava, Slovakia, and Budapest, Hungary. In Bratislava, he plans to meet with members of the Slovak government. Discussions are expected to focus on regional security interests, bilateral cooperation on nuclear energy and energy diversification, as well as support for Slovakia’s military modernization and its commitments to NATO.

In Budapest, Secretary Rubio is set to meet with Hungarian officials. The agenda includes efforts to strengthen bilateral and regional interests. Talks will also address ongoing peace processes aimed at resolving global conflicts and furthering the U.S.-Hungary partnership in the energy sector.
