Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with G7 foreign ministers in Munich, Germany, to discuss current international security challenges. The discussions focused on conflicts affecting peace and stability in Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Leaders also addressed security concerns in the Indo-Pacific and Western Hemisphere.
According to Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott, "The Secretary reiterated the United States’ commitment to promoting stability in Venezuela and negotiating an end to the Russia-Ukraine war." He added that Secretary Rubio and his counterparts "reaffirmed the importance of strengthening G7 cooperation to address global threats to international peace and security."
The meeting comes amid ongoing efforts by the United States and its allies to coordinate responses to regional conflicts and work toward diplomatic solutions for long-standing disputes.
