Lancaster man sentenced to 15 years for receiving child pornography

A Lancaster resident, Alexander Grupp, age 33, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison and 10 years of supervised release for receiving child pornography. The sentence was handed down by Chief U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford, according to an announcement from U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Franz M. Wright stated that Grupp had previously been convicted in March 2018 in New York State Court for possessing obscene sexual performance by a child under sixteen and received a sentence that included 10 years' probation. In October 2022, Grupp contacted a 15-year-old girl via the instant messaging application Discord and convinced her to send nude photos of herself.

"The sentencing is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Philip Tejera," according to the press release.
