A Northampton man, Gabriel Lebron, 35, has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison for firearm and narcotics offenses committed while he was on supervised release. The sentencing took place in Springfield federal court.
U.S. District Court Judge Mark G. Mastroianni imposed a seven-year sentence for the firearm and drug charges, with an additional year for violating the conditions of Lebron’s supervised release. These sentences will be served consecutively, followed by three years of supervised release.
Lebron pleaded guilty in September 2025 to one count each of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as possession with intent to distribute cocaine base and heroin.
The charges stem from an incident on April 9, 2025, when law enforcement responded to a report of a man displaying a gun at the Howard Johnson hotel lobby in Hadley. Officers found Lebron in possession of a loaded .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol, crack cocaine packaged in “snap caps,” and two bundles of heroin. He was arrested at the scene.
At the time of his arrest, Lebron was under federal supervision following a prior conviction in Vermont for possessing a loaded ghost gun equipped with a laser sight and multiple rounds of ammunition. In that earlier case, he had received a 27-month federal prison sentence and three years of supervised release in 2023.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley stated: "Valuable assistance provided by the Hadley Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police." Thomas Greco, Special Agent in Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives’ Boston Field Division also participated in announcing the outcome. Assistant U.S. Attorney Steven H. Breslow prosecuted the case from the Springfield Branch Office.
