Executive Assistant Commissioner Diane J. Sabatino shared updates on recent enforcement actions and recruitment efforts by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) through a series of posts on February 26, 2026.
In her first post, Sabatino highlighted a narcotics seizure in Texas: "CBP officers in Hidalgo, Texas, seized 45.94 pounds of narcotics concealed inside a vehicle’s seats. 20 packages were uncovered using advanced scanning technology and a CBP K9, stopping the drugs before they could reach U.S. communities." (February 26, 2026).
Later that day, she reported on vehicle seizures at the Port of New York/Newark: "At the Port of New York/Newark, our @cbp officers don't play games. 12 vehicles have been seized, a clear message to those who attempt to exploit our ports. Over 206 vehicles have been seized @DFONewYork since January 1, 2026." (February 26, 2026).
Sabatino also promoted career opportunities within CBP for individuals with science backgrounds: "Ready to protect America's food supply? @CBP agriculture specialists defend U.S. natural resources from harmful pests and foreign animal diseases. Turn your science degree into service: become a CBP agriculture specialist." (February 26, 2026).
The Office of Field Operations (OFO), which Sabatino represents as Executive Assistant Commissioner, is responsible for securing U.S. borders at ports of entry and facilitating lawful trade and travel.
