Philadelphia man charged with voting fraud as non-citizen in 2024 federal election

A Philadelphia resident, Mahady Sacko, has been arrested and charged with fraudulent voting in the 2024 federal election. According to a statement from United States Attorney David Metcalf, Sacko, age 50, is accused of voting in person during the 2024 general election despite being an illegal alien who was ordered deported in 2000.

Authorities allege that Sacko falsely claimed U.S. citizenship to both register and cast a vote in the federal election. If found guilty, he could face up to five years in prison.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation into this case.

“The charges and allegations contained in the indictment are merely accusations. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty in court,” according to the statement from U.S. Attorney David Metcalf.
