U.S. Hostage and Wrongful Detainee Day ceremony to feature remarks by top officials

Secretary of State Marco Rubio and FBI Deputy Director Christopher Raia are scheduled to speak at a flag raising ceremony marking U.S. Hostage and Wrongful Detainee Day. The event will take place on Monday, March 9, at 9:00 a.m. EDT at the Department of State.

The Secretary’s remarks will be available to journalists attending in person through pooled press coverage and will also be streamed live on the Department of State homepage and its YouTube channel.

After the ceremony, there will be a panel discussion titled "Homecomings: Reflections on Return and Recovery" featuring former detainees. This discussion is set to take place in the Dean Acheson Auditorium and will also be livestreamed.
