Farmington man pleads guilty to child sexual exploitation charges

A Farmington, Pennsylvania resident has pleaded guilty in federal court to charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to an announcement from United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.

Nathan Fike, 41, entered his guilty plea before United States District Judge Marilyn J. Horan. The court was informed that on October 4, 2023, Fike distributed videos showing minor children engaged in sexually explicit conduct to an undercover agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Additionally, during a search at Fike’s residence on February 9, 2024, federal agents found videos and images depicting the sexual exploitation of minors, including some victims who were prepubescent and under 12 years old.

Judge Horan has scheduled sentencing for June 24, 2026. The law stipulates a minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of up to 20 years in prison, as well as a possible fine of up to $250,000 or both. The actual sentence will be determined based on the seriousness of the offenses and any prior criminal history.

Assistant United States Attorney V. Joseph Sonson is prosecuting the case. The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating efforts among federal, state, and local agencies.
